The final push towards transfer deadline day is underway with tales of bids coming in for a variety of Celtic players over the next nine days.

Four players are particularly vulnerable- Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham who all have two years left on their current deals.

This time next year all four could have left the club but retaining at least three of them fully focussed for the season ahead must be the minimum requirement of this window.

Buying clubs are a rarity at the moment as every club across Europe looks at reduced income for the year and major uncertainty. It’ll be a bold or reckless club that spends big before October 5.

Overnight the Daily Record has claimed that Burnley are ready to bid for Ryan Christie but they don’t seem to have much belief in the claim, suggesting that a bid ‘in the coming weeks’. Any bid after next Monday will be a waste of time.

Burnley are tracking Celtic ace Ryan Christie and are set to make a big money bid in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

The Hoops star has been a long time target of Turf Moor boss Sean Dyche – who was in the running to land the star when he was still plying his trade with Inverness Caley Thistle.

Christie made the switch to Celtic five years ago but the Burnley gaffer has continued to monitor his progress and is preparing to swoop.

With his pal Stuart Armstrong impressing at Southampton it’s only natural if Christie is interested in a move south but leaving now and to Burnley might not be the wisest decision.

This time next year Armstrong could be on his way out of Southampton, a move for Christie as a replacement wouldn’t be a surprise with the south coast club a very steady option for departing Celtic players.
