Kris Commons has spoken out about the mole warning delivered by Brendan Rodgers.

Before Saturday’s Glasgow derby word got out that Stephen Welsh and Diego Laxalt were in the Celtic side with Neil Lennon expressing his frustration in a pre-match radio interview.

The mole that leaks vital information resurfaced during Rodgers’ time at the club, in the summer of 2019 an investigation was launched when a document claiming to list transfer targets surfaced on Social Media.

Plugging the information leak seems a near impossible task with news able to get out with a simple text message from a player or staff member in discussions with a friend or family member.

Commons has been inside and outside the bubble but a warning from Rodgers in June 2016 left a lasting impression.

Picking up on his Daily Mail column, the Daily Record reports:

A mole in the camp may not have helped Celtic’s chances but it had nothing to do with them losing the match.

Moles are nothing new. We had a team meeting under Rodgers when he warned us that if the team came out, we’d all have a serious problem.

Whether this is the same culprit or someone different, it does suggest that someone who’s unhappy is deliberately being disruptive. It adds to the dark mood around Celtic right now.

Neil Lennon’s next media appearance will be on Wednesday when he previews the Europa League match with AC Milan.
