Neil Lennon didn’t miss any targets as he faced the media by Zoom call to preview Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

A re-match with the Dons was barely touched on as the Celtic boss addressed the mountain of criticism that him and his side have taken over the last 10 days.

Back-to-back home defeats followed by a 3-3 draw at Aberdeen has left the hoops six points behind in the SPFL title race and up against it in their Europa League group.

5 minutes 30:

I’m telling you it’s media driven, there is no question of that. There is a narrative that everybody wants to see a change, that;s fine, that’s just the way of the world. The poison comes either from social media or it’s picked up by you guys in your reports, in your articles, newspapers or whatever and it’s out there for people to click-bait.

I can’t control that, what I can control is what goes on in the training ground, the players are solid and have made a really good start to the season.

Everything about the performances of the side through to the demeanour of the manager has been criticised by fans on Social Media but it was more traditional media outlets that Lennon took on directly.

A poll in the Glasgow Times asked readers if Lennon should be sacked- something that Lennon hasn’t witnessed in the 20 years since he moved to Glasgow from Leicester City.

During the broadcast conference above no pundit was named but during his conference with the daily newspapers Kris Commons was singled out over his unfair criticism of Shane Duffy.
