Steven Gerrard has made one final public pleas for his club to sign more players.

The Ibrox boss has spent around £10m on Cedric Itten, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi with only £175,000 incoming from the sale of Greg Docherty.

Three weeks ago after beating Dundee United Gerrard went public with his need for more signings but there has been no response from the board.

Reaching the group stage of the Europa League was worth 2.9m euros last season with ticket money, points won and qualification adding to the pot.

With the company losing money heavily there seems to be no inclination from the board to spend more with Gerrard making his feelings clear at today’s media video call.

Does qualifying give us more flexibility ahead of the deadline on Monday? It’s a difficult question to answer, probably better suited to other people above me at this football club.

The board, myself and Ross are still trying to add the person in the position we feel we need before the window shuts but we’ll have to see how the next three days pan out in terms of ins and outs.

It’s difficult to control because you never know what’s going to land on your desk and whether you are able to get someone over the line when you are trying to make it happen.

Since replacing Dave King as chairman Douglas Park hasn’t taken part in any video interviews.
