Celtic fans were almost dewy eyes as they saw Tom Rogic back in action just as Celtic looked like the team the fans have waited all season for.
It only lasted for around 25 to 30 minutes but after a flat start to the season and lame display in the Glasgow derby there were strong hints of some magic, creativity and punch once the Australian joined the fray.
Since returning injured from the Asian Cup in January 2019 Rogic has been a pale shadow of the Invincible hero with a £4m move to Qatar almost going through unheralded during the transfer window.
If he had left he would have left his mark after seven years sprinkled with magic and memories centred around cup finals and Glasgow derbies.
When he replaced Scott Brown after 64 minutes the game looked academic with AC Milan leading 2-0.
Ten minutes later Moi Elyounossi headed Celtic a lifeline, the team stepped up a gear or two and could have grabbed an equaliser although ultimately it was Milan with a stoppage time goal from Jens Petter Hauge that added to the scoreline.
Now all eyes are on Pittodrie and the hope that Rogic is in from the start to inflict more pain on Aberdeen.
The two big lessons from tonight are that #Celtic must go to four at the back at Pittodrie.
And Tom Rogic must have a role to play!— Brian McNally (@McNallyMirror) October 22, 2020
A few positives, Laxalt is a joy to watch and it’s great to see Tom Rogic back. Duffy oh dear lord, I’m not sure if he really is that bad or he cannot cope playing for his favourite club, he needs to wake up and quickly ??

Tom Rogic needs to play as much as possible too, best player in Scotland. Would get Scott Bain back in the team anaw. Brown needs phased out too, I’m his biggest fan but it’s time.

Tom Rogic earning a start on Sunday?

Tom Rogic is the player that will get the team playing again. His ability on the ball in tight spaces, as well as then attracting opposition to him and making space for the other players will be the key to turning this round!
Get back to the 4231 and that starts on Sunday!!!
