Paul John Dykes has catalogued the sequence of events that has led him to believe that there is a toxic culture inside Celtic.

While that might be too strong a comment it is certainly a true reflection of online reaction over the last 10 days as supporters look on from the outside at troubling performances and results.

It is possible to turn results around but there seems to be little relationship between the players and management with flat performances on the pitch matched by what appears to be a very distanced attitude from Neil Lennon in the dug-out.

Keep The Faith is the cry from many supporters online but the last three performances are hardly surprising, even during a seven match winning run concerns were being raised about almost all aspects of the way that the team was playing.

A 3-0 win at home to Hibs suggested that a corner may have been turned but the 1-0 win away to Sarajevo was laboured viewing before substitutes Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala saved the day with late goals at St Johnstone.

The international break left a brutal mark on the Celtic squad but even allowing for half a dozen absentees there appears to be a badly missing lack of spirit, fight and drive being displayed.

Restrictions on movement mean that Social Media is playing a lead role in shaping opinions. Paul John Dykes isn’t a Shock Jock looking for attention but on the Celtic State of Mind Podcast today he laid out the trail of events that require a clear out at Celtic Park.

After referencing Boli Bolingoli’s trip to Spain Dykes continued:

Leaks of the team, people coming to me saying ‘It’s happened before Lennon was here’. Well it’s happening right now, it’s happening under Neil Lennon’s watch and under his nose so we can’t just say ‘that’s not Neil Lennon’s problem’ it is Neil Lennon’s problem. And again he’s been undermined by people leaking the team.

Players that don’t want to be here. That came directly from Neil Lennon after the Ferencvaros defeat. There are players that don’t want to be here, that have been agitating for moves.

These are issues that are confirmed so nobody is claiming ‘I’m in the know’ or ‘I’m getting a group message on WhatsApp or a text from someone in the know’. If that was the case I wouldn’t build any argument on that. These are the confirmed cases of behind the scenes turmoil.

That’s happening, as we speak people are trying to ignore that it’s happening because when the players who are on the injury list come back it’s a magic wand and everything becomes great again.

It doesn’t really work like that because if there is a toxic culture within a club the player performances are going to be affected and that’s why I’m pushing for change. Personally, that’s what I want as a Celtic supporter.
