Neil Lennon has no intention of standing down as Celtic manager.

Criticism of results and performances, the club and the manager has been rife over the last month with just two wins from the last eight matches.

Over the last few days the online criticism has focussed on Lennon with a banner from the Green Brigade outside Celtic Park this morning calling for the manager to step down.

With no fans inside the ground the season has had an artificial feel to it with Lennon’s media conference carried out by Zoom call.

The exact feelings of the Celtic support is hard to gauge but when he spoke to the daily newspapers there was no indication that Lennon is ready to step aside.

The Daily Record reports:

Lennon made it crystal clear he’s no intention of walking away from his post and said: “Absolutely not. Look, if things deteriorated, you might have to hold your hands up but, at the minute, I’ve got no intentions of quitting.

“I don’t think I need to. I don’t think I even need to think about it. It’s all the outside noise that’s affecting other people. It’s not affecting me. I don’t feel under any pressure at all. I don’t feel that I should be under any pressure, either. We have lost one game in the league this season.”

Celtic face Sparta Prague on Thursday needing a win to retain any interest in progressing from their Europa League group.

Leigh Griffiths is missing with a knee injury but Chris Jullien is back in the squad and in contention for his first appearance since September 12 in the 5-0 win away to Ross County.
