Leigh Griffiths has turned to Instagram to clear up a Twitter misunderstanding.
Late on Thursday night he liked a picture of a tearful Kyle Lafferty after Slovakia had defeated Northern Ireland in their Euro 2020 Play Off.
Lafferty has never hidden his dislike for Celtic but after his image was liked sensitive Ibrox fans pointed out that their former hero had suffered a family bereavement the previous week.
Griffiths’ Twitter account was swamped with abuse forcing the Celtic striker to close it down, this morning he explained the actions on Instagram.
Neither Celtic or Scotland have commented on the Lafferty tweet.
