Chris Sutton hasn’t commented on Twitter about Celtic’s 2-2 draw away to Hibs.
The former hoops striker is normally quick on the draw with a sharp summary of events but two hours after the final whistle at Easter Road he hasn’t reacted to a result that is likely to see the gap at the top of the table extended to double figures tomorrow.
Sutton was on duty for both BT Sport and BBC 5 Live today with a brief to react to results in England but he would have been well aware of how Celtic were faring in a crucial match.
It was another passive performance from Celtic as they shipped points on the road for the third time this season. The failings that were so obvious at Kilmarnock and Aberdeen were repeated in Edinburgh with no one fooled by two late goals to cancel out chronic defending.
Sutton’s former team-mate Neil Lennon has the good will of the Celtic support but the well is virtually dry, in mid-November it is difficult to highlight a single 90 minute performance that was upto scratch.
Whether the Celtic board decide to take any action is the question that the fans are asking tonight, if not Sutton will have his BT Sport hat on in midweek for the Europa League tie with Sparta Prague with his mate Lenny in the firing line.
Below, Sutton’s retweets between 4.45pm and 6.45pm
