Celtic fans reacted with scepticism to a ‘Lennon and Duffy Out’ banner that appeared outside Celtic Park last night.
Over the previous 48 hours Social Media has been awash with criticism of all aspects of the club with the manager the main target.
It is eight months since any fans were inside Celtic Park with Social Media now the established forum for debate and sharing opinions.
“F****** shambles.”

Don’t think we’re far off seeing some protests at the ground but I’m skeptical about that banner. Somebody’s at it. We’d all love nothing more than for Lennon to turn things around & deliver the 10. Spraying abuse on a bedsheet is an embarrassment. Sure we can all agree on that?

I don’t think Lennon should be there either but I’m hardly Gonna pull the sheets off ma bed and do a daft wee banner. I’m sure they all know exactly how the fans feel.

Best part about this is I was up Celtic Park with @christacoyle81 tonight and was going to put a joke post up about Lennon out. Also, the banner is clearly someone hundercover but lose the morra and you’ll see worse https://t.co/XsVwXCuiGm

Rodgers left because he was getting a massive salary elsewhere, he knew he could take us to the ten and left us.
Lennon isn’t the answer however I honestly don’t think the board are going to say aw look there a wee banner up, Lennon on yer way. Nah it’s embarrassing.— ??????????? (@cheekychopscat) November 7, 2020
Aye that’s out of order. I’m not a fan of lennon or duffy right now but all respect goes out the window after that banner

A spray painted bed-sheet is about a decade out of date, unlike Social Media the source of the banner is impossible to trace.
The sentiments are certainly in line with the thinking of many Celtic supporters at the moment but in 2020 every club, firm and company have their eyes on Social Media, collecting feed back on a whole range of issues.
It is almost 20 years since Neil Lennon joined Celtic, he knows the mechanics and chemistry of the environment and has been on the end of physical attacks and threats from the other side.
A single banner isn’t going to influence his thinking but anything less than a win today at Motherwell and the pressure will intensify on him and the Chief Executive whose recruitment procedure has been heavily criticised.
“They’re starting to get the form back that they’ve shown over the last few seasons. We need a reaction as well from Thursday evening.”
