Odsonne Edouard celebrated his goal double for the French u-21 side with a visit to Twitter and Instagram.

The striker last found the net away to Sarajevo on October 1 before going through a torrid time after testing positive four days later when he reported for international duty.

After self-isolating in France he returned to Celtic but looked far from his usual self as he appeared in and out of Neil Lennon’s side.

The Edouard of last season was posted missing as he struggled for form with supporters questioning his commitment as they looked for reasons for his poor form and lack of goals.

Midway through the first half of last night’s European Championship qualifier against Switzerland we got a throw-back to the Eddie of old when he put France ahead in the 18th minute. Five minutes later he doubled the lead as Celtic fans on social media celebrated and breathed a sigh of relief.

France went on to win the match 3-1 to pip the Swiss for top place and a seeded slot in next summer’s European Championship Finals with 27 points from 10 matches.

Edouard netted 11 goals in eight appearances with Celtic fans hoping that his scoring touch can continue against Hibs on Saturday.
