Charlie Adam has raised the highly unlikely prospect of Celtic bringing in Mauricio Pochettino as manager.

What insight the chunky Dundee midfielder has on matters Celtic is highly debateable, with his own club sitting in seventh place in The Championship with five points from five games his time might be better spent helping out James McPake.

Pochettino has been out of work for a year since being sacked by Spurs six months after leading them out in the final of the Champions League against Liverpool.

With a contract running until 2023 the Argentinian is highly unlikely to break from gardening leave for a gig in Scotland. Without taking another job in football The Independent report that Poch will pick up £12.5m from Spurs but that didn’t prevent Adam sharing his thoughts with PLZ Soccer as The Sun reported:

Dermot Desmond can pull anything out the rabbit. He’s got enough money. Could Pochettino be the one? Could he throw Pochettino in the mix?

Because he’s not no job. Come in, rebuild your career again and see what happens. What’s the difference with that and Brendan Rodgers coming to Celtic?

If Adam took any real notice of Celtic he’d realise that Peter Lawwell is in charge of every day matters, it is only in exceptional circumstances that Dermot Desmond gets involved.

The Irish businessman strongly backed Lennon in an interview with The Athletic earlier this season and is unlikely to be considering a sacking never mind offering the sort of salary that Pochettino signed at Spurs in 2018.
