George Edmondson and Jordan Jones have been suspended from Ibrox for 14 days after being arrested and charged with attending an illegal house party.

It seems that their crime has been getting caught. It is the first time that any breach of protocol has been made public involving Steven Gerrard’s squad.

Covering the incident The Sun reports:

The Gers have launched a probe into the breach and suspended the pair, who have been ordered to self-isolate for 14 days.

Ten people were hit with fines after being caught at the illicit bash when officers turned up around 1.25am today and broke up the party. Rangers chiefs say they “will not tolerate” rule-breaking behaviour, branding it “totally unacceptable”.

Both players were signed in the summer of 2019 by Steven Gerrard with Edmondson tipped to be the next Harry Maguire by shrewd judges that watched him play for Grimsby after impressing on loan at Fylde and Alferton.

Jones was compared to Glenn Middleton while playing for Kilmarnock and scored a goal of the Season contender away to Motherwell in September. Jones is a close friend of Alfredo Morelos.

Both players were dumped out of Gerrard’s Europa League squad. No action is expected to be taken by the SPFL or Scottish Government.
