Charlie Nicholas has dropped Ismaila Soro out of contention for Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.

The midfielder has started four matches this month- with Celtic winning all four- but doesn’t rate a mention in Nicholas’ thoughts for the trip to Ibrox.

Soro’s introduction alongside David Turnbull has given the Celtic side a fresh dynamic with three wins out of three in the SPFL without any goal lost.

Most fans would put the Ivorian in their side for Ibrox on Saturday despite the claims of Scott Brown but the former Arsenal striker sees things very differently.

Picking up on his column in The Express, the Daily Record reports Nicholas saying:

In midfield, I would probably pick Ryan Christie, David Turnbull and Mohamed Elyounoussi, with Callum McGregor behind them but I can see Lennon turning to Scott Brown.

He has been a big player in these fixtures and although his performances have been on the wane, the captain still has the experience and know-how of derby day.

Celtic have Dundee United to face tomorrow before they get round to thinking about the derby match but it would seem that Brown or Soro is the big decision facing Neil Lennon with Elyounoussi unlikely to start at Ibrox.

Lennon will face the media today to preview the game with Dundee United with some attention on the Celtic defence with Chris Jullien and Shane Duffy missing the 3-0 win away to Hamilton.
