Celtic fans weren’t impressed by Chris Sutton’s decision to focus on one banner in his column in the Daily Record.
With the club out of three competitions before the end of November and trailing by 13 points in the SPFL there are no shortage of issues to discuss on top of a club statement backing Neil Lennon and his management team while promising a review in the new year.
Celtic have 50,000 Season Ticket holders that have barely been contacted this season with little suggestion that they’ll be able to get back inside the stadium any time soon.
Wile clubs like Aberdeen and Motherwell go out of their way to connect with supporters there seems to be a vow of silence inside Celtic Park with the installation of barricades reinforcing a Them and Us attitude.
Other than two statements over the last fortnight, following the fan protests after losing to Ross County, Peter Lawwell hasn’t spoken to supporters despite having numerous platforms such as the club TV station to speak directly without misinterpretation.
Sutton might choose to highlight one banner but as his Twitter feed illustrates many supporters think that there are bigger issues that he’d rather avoid.
After all that has happened over the years culminating in this absolute mess, you are focusing on on 1 banner. @chris_sutton73 the Celtic patsy.

Who would have thought in your position as a media pundit , you could get it so badly wrong when you actually know Celtic fans, that piece smacks of an agenda you’ve been asked to portray, very disappointing Chris

This sounds like Kris Boyd wrote it.

It was in poor taste but I’ll bet you my mortgage that it hasn’t tarnished Celtic fans reputation over the world

I doubt many people around the world even heard of it and even fewer would be silly enough to judge a whole fan base on one anonymous banner.

With fans not allowed in the ground to vent their anger that was the only way snd to say it didn’t work well the team was finally changed and we got a win Thursday

Most/All Celtic fans are angry with the situation at the club however only a few idiots have used that banner. I disagree with it and it should be challenged however it doesn’t tarnish the great reputation of ALL Celtic fans in my opinion.
