Sarcasm met dry humour with a dose of anger as pictures emerged of barricades being erected at the top of The Celtic Way.

Following the scenes last Sunday after the defeat from Ross County it seems that the club is taking no chances over similar protests at Sunday’s match against St Johnstone.

Not so long ago Celtic Park was genuinely a European fortress, in 2003 Bayern Munich celebrated a 0-0 draw against Martin O’Neill’s side in the Champions League- avoiding the fate that had met Lyon and Anderlecht in the previous weeks.

On Sunday Callum Davidson takes his side to the east end of Glasgow looking to be the fifth successive side to beat Neil Lennon’s men. If any more points are dropped in the title race the backlash and fury will outweigh the frustrations seen in recent weeks.

From their living room, after shelling out £500 plus for season tickets fans have had to look on in dismay at a horror run of two wins in 11 matches. With each passing defeat Neil Lennon seems more detached from reality, praising displays where the same failings are being repeated.

In May 2018 thousands crammed into the Celtic Way to celebrate a Double Treble, few who witnessed that historic achievement could have guessed what was coming two and a half years later.
