Celtic are reported to be keen on Hibs defender Josh Doig.

The 18-year-old was snapped up last summer after being released by Hearts and has become a regular in Jack Ross’ side, forcing Lewis Stevenson out of the side.

Diego Laxalt and Greg Taylor have been sharing the left-back slot at Celtic this season but despite reports of a reduced transfer fee it seems far-fetched to expect Celtic to make the loan deal of the Uruguayan a permanent move from AC Milan.

GOAL reports:

The 18-year-old has become a regular for the Scottish Premiership side in the 2020-21 season and is attracting admiring glances from clubs in England

Hibernian full-back Josh Doig is attracting interest from Manchester City, Leeds United and Celtic ahead of a possible summer move.

The 18-year-old had also drawn interest from Arsenal and Chelsea although the latter has stepped away due to the change of manager at the club and not yet knowing Thomas Tuchel’s priorities in the transfer market.

Doig, who has impressed in the Scottish Premiership in the 2020-21 season, will command a fee of around a £1 million having become a regular at left-back for high-flying Hibs.

Hibs signed Doig up on a three year contract last summer but with 14 starts so far in the SPFL he’ll be expecting a new contract.

Back in September Doig had a torrid time against Jeremie Frimpong, getting substituted at half-time as Celtic powered to a 3-0 win over the Edinburgh side. Doig was back at Celtic Park earlier this month, looking more impressive in a 1-1 draw between the clubs.
