Five clubs are reported to be bidding for Alfie Doughty.
Celtic had a bid for the Charlton winger rejected during the summer but have returned to the table with a pre-contract offer directly to the player which is only available to non-English clubs.
Stoke City and two other Championship sides have made bids for the winger who isn’t expected to play again until February due to a long term hamstring injury.
As per @mhendry92‘s exclusive tonight, I can confirm that Celtic, Rangers, Stoke City and two other English Championship clubs are battling it out to sign Charlton Athletic winger Alfie Doughty.
Charlton have accepted 3 bids from the Championship clubs, in the region of £650k.

Celtic and Rangers can sign the 21-year-old on a pre-contract.
Doughty is out until the end of February with a torn hamstring.

It looks unlikely that Doughty will extend his stay at Charlton with the summer window giving him a free reign to assess offers from England and Scotland.
The 21-year-old made 20 appearances last season in The Championship and although Charlton were relegated he caught the eye of opponents and scouts.
Since Nick Hammond became Celtic’s Director of Football Operations in the summer of 2019 their attention has increasingly been centred on the English market.
