Neil Lennon and Shane Duffy were still dominating Twitter 10 hours after the final whistle was blown at Livingston.
But not for the reason that either would want as their nightmare seasons continued to head downhill at an alarming rate. Since mid October both have been at the centre of a collapse that no Celtic fan could have anticipated.
There had been signs, even through an eight match winning run, that the team wasn’t functioning but that had occurred previously with even Brendan Rodgers capable of an early season wobble with defeats at Tynecastle and Rugby Park before the end of September 2018.
This season however is on a completely different scale with unwanted records falling left right and centre.
Game by game Lennon has been served up to give answers and explanations with fans in disbelief at his media appearances. The same faults are being repeated, the team seems incapable of putting a 90 minute performance together with nothing being done to rectify it.
In defence Shane Duffy is at the centre of the problems. With cross balls causing havoc in every match the on loan Brighton man gave away another cheap free kick just 15 minutes into last night’s match with Livi taking full advantage to go in front.
Those type of errors were repeated throughout the match with the inquests on Lennon and Duffy continuing as Celtic supporters look for signs of leadership and decisive action from the club hierarchy.
