Celtic are reportedly close to completing a pre-contract agreement with Ben Davies.
If a deal is concluded they are likely to approach Preston to see if the move can be brought forward and completed this month. Davies has been linked with Celtic since the summer with the club currently very short on central defensive options.
With Chris Jullien out for another couple of months due to knee ligament damage Nir Bitton has been played in central defence in the last two matches.
Celtic are closing in on a pre-contract agreement to sign Preston’s Ben Davies in the summer.
Talks are said to be progressing well and at an advanced stage for the 25-year-old centre-back.

Kris Ajer has been Celtic’s most consistent central defender this season but has been played alongside a variety of players with the defence sometimes switching from a back four to a back three.
At today’s media conference Neil Lennon revealed that Jeremie Frimpong is in talks about a move to a foreign club with Hatem Abd Elhamed believed to be looking to return to Israel to be reunited with his family.
Davies has come through the ranks at Preston to make over 130 Championship apparances following loan spells at Tranmere, Southport, Newport County and Fleetwood.
