Celtic’s attempt to focus on tomorrow’s match against Hamilton Accies didn’t go down well with fans as they reeled from the news that Jeremie Frimpong is abroad negotiating a transfer out of the club.
The club decided not to carry any tweets from today’s media conference but unlike last week they did upload onto their You Tube channel.
Lennon was less animated that last week but after a couple of questions he revealed that Frimpong was out of the country negotiating a transfer to another club. No further details were given but it is now understood that Bayer Leverkusen is the club in question.
The 20-year-old has had some highs and lows this season, in common with most of his team-mates but there is no doubting his quality as demonstrated by a leading German side. Losing a promising young talent is never east for fans to understand.
After losing to Ferencvaros in August Lennon spoke about players wanting to leave which looks like being one of the many reasons for this season’s collapse.
Where exactly the blame lies will be debated for years to come but from the replies on Twitter it seems that fans are sharing it between the manager and Chief Executive.
