Eddie Howe’s managerial record stands up favourably to the pre-Celtic career of Brendan Rodgers.
The former Bournemouth boss is the man most talked about as a potential new Celtic manager with goodwill towards Neil Lennon virtually evaporated on the back of the Dubai trip and a horrendous season, domestically and in Europe.
Howe has been out of work since August when Bournemouth were relegated following five seasons in the EPL during which they were almost always comfortable in mid-table.
During his time in the top flight Howe was linked with the Arsenal and England jobs but seemed happy at Bournemouth where he had more control of the club than most managers in England enjoy.
Getting that level of control at Celtic could be an issue while Peter Lawwell remains in place, prior to departing Peter Lawwell made it clear that he had very little involvement in the signing of Marion Shved.
Howe is likely to be a candidate for most jobs that crop up in the EPL but if Celtic can put a vision to him as they did with Rodgers he is likely to be open to discussions.
