Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News has returned to a topic that no media outlet in Scotland is prepared to touch on.

With the SFA publishing a lengthy report into historic Child Abuse in Scottish Football Thomson has decided to highlight one aspect.

One victim approached the club from Ibrox to report on their own experiences but rather than offer sympathy they were told to contact the liquidators, appointed in 2012 to tie up the loose ends relating to 267 creditors left high and dry.

According to the current club they are chasing title number 55 and preparing to celebrate their 150th anniversary but anything unwelcome prior to 2012 has got nothing to do with them.

Today’s SFA report lists a number of tragic cases with Celtic, Hibs and Rangers all named and involved to some extent.

For those involved in their teenage years their lives have been scarred and blighted horribly.

I can remember Kenny Campbell coming through the ranks at Celtic alongside Brian O’Neil, Mark Donaghy and Billy Dolan. To see interviews with him brings home the tragedy with many folk still alive trying to pretend that they were completely unaware of what was going on.

In the late eighties and early nineties there were stories going around about some of those involved, it was a different age to today but the crimes are equally horrific.

A lot of folk made a very good living out of Scottish football, enjoyed the perks but others a generation or two younger have had a horrific time with virtually no-one being held to account.
