Ian Bankier has broken Celtic’s boardroom policy of silence.

Apart from official regulatory statements next to nothing is heard from the Celtic chairman who is in his 10th year in the role.

Peter Lawwell is the public face of Corporate Celtic but behind the scenes it seems that every major decision has to be ran past Dermot Desmond although direct comment from the Irishman about Celtic is very rare.

Amid a season of almost constant disaster the protests of supporters on consecutive weekends forced the club to show their hand with a managerial review announced on December 7 alongside a statement of support for Neil Lennon.

Hoops fan Paul wrote to Lawwell on January 8 for an update on the review, today he received a letter of reply from Bankier promising an update on the managerial review with the Interim Accounts for the half year to 31 December.

Since sending the letter Lawwell has decided to retire at the end of June with Don McKay from SRU coming in to take his place.

Long before then the club will be looking for fans to renew Season Tickets which might explain the trickle of news coming out ahead of what will have to be an incredible charm offensive to get close to 40,000 fans renewing and trusting the club that has fallen silent almost all season.
