Celtic’s interest in Japhet Tanganga has ended.
In mid-morning Sky Sports announced that Celtic were interested in signing the 21-year-old on loan from Spurs after their hopes of signing Ben Davies from Preston was hijacked by Liverpool.
Celtic are keen on Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga – one of a number of centre-backs the club are looking at on #DeadlineDay.
He will find out later if he’ll be allowed out on loan. Two Premier League clubs are also interested.

Video Celts understands that after initial contact with Tanaganga the deal won’t be progressed with the hoops running out of options to shore up their central defence.
The likely signing of Jonjoe Kenny from Spurs provides an option at right-back but his fitness will have to be assessed before he can go into action.
Kris Ajer looks like continuing at right-back tomorrow away to Kilmarnock with Stephen Welsh partnering Shane Duffy with Nir Bitton out injured.
There has been no word from Celtic over Hatem Abd Elhamed returning to Israel to join up with his family.
