Chris Jullien has returned to France for the next stage in his rehab after damaging knee ligament muscles at the end of December.

With his knee still in a brace it looks to be touch and go whether he will play again this season. After an impressive debut term Jullien’s season has barely got going this season with a lengthy absence earlier in the campaign due to a back injury.

With Celtic leading 2-0 at home to Dundee United on December 30 Jullien suffered a very awkward collision with a goal post as he raced back to clear the ball off the line. After a five minute stoppage he was stretchered off with the extent of the injury emerging a few days later when Neil Lennon took his side to Ibrox with Nir Bitton partnering Kris Ajer in central defence.

The Sun reports:

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN has returned to France for intensive rehab on his knee injury. The Celtic defender has been out since late December after being crocked against Dundee United.

Jullien suffered a nasty collision with a Parkhead post and faces a fight to play again this season. The Frenchman, who tested positive for after Celtic’s Dubai trip, has now returned home for treatment. Jullien has checked into the FFF’s Clairefontaine medical centre as he bids to get back to full fitness.

Jullien was included in Celtic’s ill-fated trip to Dubai, testing positive to complete what has virtually been a wasted season with the exception of picking up a Scottish Cup winners medal 10 days before suffering his knee injury.
