Celtic fans reacted with a mix of emotions when Albian Ajeti was offered a two match suspension for simulation during the 4-0 win over Kilmarnock.
Before the match, while accepting a two match suspension for Alfredo Morelos, Steven Gerrard had appealed for consistency from the SFA with all eyes trained on Celtic’s trip to Rugby Park in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
An incident between Scott Brown and Aaron Tshibola was highlighted after the game, the penalty awarded for a trip on Ajeti barely rated a mention. They occur in almost every match and are usually accompanied by the ‘seen them given’ comment.
From the Sky Sports cameras it is impossible to tell either way if there was contact or not. The match referee and his assistant at the side of the pitch saw the contact between Colin Doyle and Ajeti.
Celtic have the option to appeal against the suspension, if they do Ajeti can face Motherwell on Saturday with an appeal likely to be heard early next week before Wednesday’s away match against St Mirren.

Done to appease one set of fans. Celtic will appeal this and win. Easy to show there was contact however minimal it was. If he gets done for this, then there will be players cited and banned every week at Ibrox. Morelos would hardly play

Scandalous the keeper touched him therefore it’s a foul whether he exaggerated the fall or not
— RolyPolyHolyGoalie (@PolyGoalie) February 4, 2021
Absolutely diabolical. The keeper hits his leg with his hand so a penalty can be given. Browns elbow is more a red card. Honestly where do they get these people from

Nothing will come of it, only reason they’ve done it is to deflect from the fact that nothing will happen to Roofe. It’s all a circus, just move on.
