Kelvin Wilson can’t believe what he has been watching as Celtic’s season lurches from one disaster to another.

Sunday’s defeat at Ross County was the sixth time in 2021 that Celtic have dropped points in the SPFL as John Hughes became the second County boss to get the better of Neil Lennon this season.

Stuart Kettlewell was sacked soon after celebrating a Betfred Cup win but for reasons only known to the Celtic board Lennon seems to be under no pressure despite a horrendous run of results.

Wilson was a team-mate of Lennon at Nottingham Forest before joining Celtic in 2011 where he saw the other side of the Irishman as a manager.

Motivation rather than tactics was always Lennon’s strength but in a potentially historic season it seems like players have switched off with their manager unable to change that mindset.

Every time that I watch Celtic, I watch them on TV and they just don’t look bothered, it’s just going through the motions.

It’s shocked me because I know that if there were fans there it would be completely different, they would have to (be bothered). The fans wouldn’t give them any choice.

Because there isn’t (fans there) its like I’m watching a pre-season or Testimonial game a lot of the times. Its slow, they conceded a goal, they walk. Its like, I can’t believe what’s happening, this is for 10-in-a-row. Come on, it’s like you want to give them a shake.
