Jim White believes that Rafa Benitez, Steve Clarke and Roberto Martinez are in the frame to take over from Neil Lennon as Celtic manager.

All three have been linked with Celtic to some degree in recent weeks but the announcement this morning confirms that the race is officially on.

White is more associated with the other side of Glasgow but does have a range of contacts across the game after more than 20 years in the studio of Sky Sports News.

Clarke and Martinez are both currently in international management with their focus this summer firmly on the European Championships.

Celtic require a manager in place for pre-season training in mid-June which is precisely the time that the European Championships are due to start with Clarke and Martinez heavily invested in Scotland and Belgium.

Benitez recently left a club job in China and is back living with his family on Merseyside but is likely to be linked with dozens of club jobs as soon as a vacancy occurs.
