Kemar Roofe replaced the suspended Alfredo Morelos against St Johnstone tonight and outdid the Colombian with a brutal over the ball attack on Murray Davidson.
After showing the sort of first touch that Kenny Miller made his trademark the former Leeds striker then lunged straight over the ball into the lower leg of Davidson who had to be substituted before half time.
Referee David Munro, making tracks through the SFA and already on the FIFA list had a clear view of the incident but decided that it was only a worth a yellow card. So far this season no Ibrox players have been sent off, the only club in the SPFL Premiership with that record.
At his pre-match media conference yesterday Steven Gerrard called for consistency from the SFA after accepting Morelos’ second retrospective red card of the season.

It is the fourth time in less than two months that Ibrox players have avoided clear and obvious red cards
December 13- Morelos drives his forearm into the face of Dundee United’s Mark Connolly during the first half. Steven McLean issues a yellow, Gerrard’s side win 2-1 and the SFA issue a retrospective two match ban accepted by the club
January 2- in the opening minutes of the Derby Morelos stamps on the heel of Jeremie Frimpong after the ball is cleared. Bobby Madden reluctantly gives Celtic a free kick.
January 27- Morelos stamps on Ryan Porteous in the first half against Hibs. Kevin Clancy takes no action, describes it as a tangle of legs, SFA apply two match retrospective suspension which the club accepts. Steven Gerrard calls for consistency.

Roofe lucky there I think. Accidental, but over the ball. Couldn’t have argued if the card was a different colour, but no worse than Edouards in December

SFA will show consistency, once roofe has scored the winner, by giving him a 3 match ban after the fact.
There’s yer consistency indeed.

Roofe is a lucky boy. That’s a red for me. And while I’m on can Rangers step this up?!!!!
