Jonathan Afolabi was on target as Ireland’s u-21 side came from behind to beat Wales 2-1 in a friendly this afternoon at Wrexham.
The striker has been on loan at Dundee this season but returned to the international fold today alongside Lee O’Connor who captained Ireland and Luca Connell.
Wales took the lead in the 11th minute through Joe Adams and were worth their lead at the interval.

Late in the second half the match turned in Ireland’s favour when Afolabi netted from close range in the 75th minute, 60 seconds later an own goal from Morgan Boyes gave the visitors the win.
The three Celts will now return to their loan clubs looking to kick on with the hope of returning to Celtic in pre-season ready to kick on and make an impression on the first team after joining up in the summer of 2019.
