Steven Gerrard has again broken the protocols of Scottish football by driving to Ibrox with one of his coaches in the passenger seat.

It is the latest in a long line of rule breaking from the Ibrox club that the Scottish football authorities have refused to punish. Last June, on the first day of pre-season training, Gerrard gave his assistant Michael Beale a lift to Murray Park.

In August a friendly match with Dundee United at Murray Park went ahead as planned even though the majority of the Ibrox players didn’t have a valid test result.

By way of contrast St Mirren and Kilmarnock had 3-0 defeats recorded for allowing players to car share and sit too close on team busses. The punishments were later reduced to £10,000 fines.

Three weeks ago, five Ibrox players were given Fixed Penalties by Police Scotland, so far no charges have been made by the SFA. Within a week of Boli Bolingoli’s trip to Spain coming to light Celtic had two matches postponed with the player charged by the SFA.

Thousands of fans have gathered outside of Ibrox, releasing fireworks and flares in full view of Police Officers as they break the laws of the land.

Gerrard will watch today’s match from the stand following his foul mouthed attack on John Beaton at Livingston in midweek.
