Celtic fans were sceptical as the club surprised them with their ‘not half of anything’ tweet.

The move came as Celtic were lumped in with the weekend law-breakers from Ibrox that have dominated politics and the news over the last few days.

No Celtic fans were in George Square denying Lockdown but the club was twice mentioned in Parliament today by the First Minister and extensively referenced in a letter from Ibrox chairman Douglas Park. Celtic have a contract with Park for the supply of all domestic travel.

For years, without directly mentioning it, Celtic have seemed more than happy to be part of the Old Firm. The phrase was rarely mentioned by the club but their media partners liked nothing better than lumping two clubs together and stirring up a yarn or controversy.

Tonight, something may have triggered inside Celtic, it could be a new broom arriving in the shape of in-coming CEO but tonight’s tweet was a real surprise to most fans.

What happens next is the big question. Will the club follow up the tweet with actions or as some of the cynical have suggested simply the first step in trying to convince fans to renew Season Tickets for next season?
