Trevor Sinclair doesn’t bother with convenient, comforting versions of recent events.
If a football club is put into liquidation it isn’t financial difficulties or problems with their engine house subsidiary. It’s Kaput, finito. The end.
In February 2012 Rangers Football Club went into administration, a CVA was required to satisfy creditors to allow the club to refinance and survive with the threat of a massive tax bill on the horizon due to a scandalous scam of disguised remuneration.
Four years earlier around 120,000 bears had turned Manchester into a public toilet then decided to trash the city centre. Not one, no not one, came up with a plan to save their beloved institution.
With no offer on the table to make repayments Her Majesty put the club into liquidation.
Charles Green bought a stadium and training ground, carved up a secret agreement with the SFA, SPL and Scottish Football League and hot his new club into a division that contained Annan, Peterhead and Queens Park.
Jim White, Colin Hendry, Ally McCoist, David Tanner and Adrian Durham did nothing to help their ailing club, being reminded of that is uncomfortable as they wrap themselves in delusion.
