Willie Collum put his own stamp on yesterday’s derby match with almost all parties pleased to see the match end in a draw.

In the 27th minute the Lanarkshire based referee had his biggest decision to make when Borna Barasic lunged in late and dangerously on Odsonne Edouard.

With Celtic leading 1-0 at the time Collum knew the enormity of applying the Laws of the Game. Rather than award Celtic a penalty he booked Edouard, by the time he was back in the dressing room at half-time the scoreline was 1-1.

A number of borderline decisions went a predictable way during the second half. Connor Goldson was allowed to crunch through the back of Celtic players without fear of being booked.

The Ibrox side had 44% of possession, committed 13 fouls and had 1 booking.

Celtic had 56% possession, had 16 fouls given against them and three bookings.

In the final minute Collum was within seconds of the desired result. Ryan Christie stood his ground, Barasic flew into a ‘challenge’ but got nowhere near the ball. As his assistant raced on following the ball Collum blew for a free kick with the full-time whistle following soon after.
