John Kennedy has urged supporters to look beyond the goal lost in Sunday’s Glasgow Derby.

After taking the lead with a well worked goal from Moi Elyounoussi an old, familiar and unwelcome failing undid the good work.

From the moment Jonjoe Kenny gave away a ridiculous corner kick many Celtic fans had that sinking feeling.

No club has lost a greater percentage of goal from set-pieces than Celtic with a simple cross into the centre of the penalty box causing all sorts of panic.

A corner kick, a header and a back post run later and the scores were level. The pass from Callum McGregor, the cross from Odsonne Edouard and the leap and header from Elyounoussi cancelled out in an instant.

On the outside it seems a relatively straightforward task to combat but Kennedy told the Daily Record that set-pieces are an issue that the coaching staff is constantly working to deal with.

It is something we have worked a lot on and will continue to work on. We will never stop until we fix it. Even when we fix it we will continue with that. I don’t want the review of the game to be about Celtic conceding at another set play.

I want people to look at the actual performance. We showed we were the better team, we created better chances and ultimately we should have won the game. It is something we will fix and continue trying to address but overall the quality of performance was good.

Most of the Celtic squad are away on international duty this week with the next match on April 3 or 4 at home to Arbroath or Falkirk in the Scottish Cup.
