Dom McKay has been given a pictorial send off by SNS are he prepares to jump into the spotlight on Monday.

Over the last decade the 42-year-old has worked his way up the ladder at the SRU, calling in SNS and others to promote a variety of sponsorship deals and initiatives.

From Monday things change entirely as he steps into the CEO role at Celtic, initially alongside Peter Lawwell before going solo from July 1.

It is almost three months since McKay’s move to Celtic was announced but no doubt the recruitment process would have extended back into 2020.

Lawwell has shied away from direct publicity over the last couple of years but there will be an expectation for a different approach from his successor with a number of in-house platforms open to him to communicate directly with Celtic supporters.

Getting a new manager on board and convincing 50,000 fans that the club can be trusted with their Season Ticket money with a number of unresolved issues will test McKay rather more than a photo opportunity for the SRU.
