Ewan Henderson scored a stoppage time clincher today to give Dunfermline a 3-1 home win over Queen of the South.

After three successive draws it was a vital win to lift Stevie Crawford’s side back into a play-off spot and effectively end any chance of Queen of the South snatching a play-off place.

With two matches left to play Dunfermline are two points ahead of Inverness Caley Thistle who have four fixtures left. Dunfermline have to play Arbroath and Alloa in their final fixtures, Caley Thistle face Dundee, Hearts and Ayr United.

Henderson looked like he was being given a real chance by Brendan Rodgers around new year 2019  but under Neil Lennon his opportunities have been limited.

Last season Celtic cancelled a loan spell at Ross County in January with just two substitute appearances this season. Today was his sixth Dunfermline appearance.

Henderson moved to Dunfermline on loan last month and will be looking to impress the new Celtic manager in pre-season along with Kerr McInroy, Luca Connell and Scott Robertson with a space emerging due to Scott Brown’s departure.
