Jim White couldn’t keep his anger in check as he came to terms with St Johnstone’s Scottish Cup victory at Ibrox.

The Sky Sports and TalkSPORT host goes to great lengths to claim that he has no club affiliations but shows an audible level of excitement when speaking with any of his old Ibrox chums and heroes like Walter, Graeme, Ally and of course Brian Laudrup.

Earlier this season, between visits to his favourite cosmetic surgeon, White managed to get in to watch his club playing at Hamilton Accies, getting a non-socially distanced selfie with Mister Gerrard after the match.

After nine years of suffering things have been much brighter for the former STV sports-anchor but the joyful conclusion to the season that he was anticipating ran aground last night.

A week after celebrating an ‘Old Firm’ victory White was brought crashing down to earth by St Johnstone’s victory and couldn’t contain his anger.

The grovelling fan-boy treatment of Mister Gerrard was replaced by the cold hard reality that Callum Davidson could end the season with more trophies to his name than the feted Liverpool legend.

Picking up on his TalkSPORT show this morning, The Sun reports:

White though, sparked raptures of laughter in the talkSPORT studio by saying: “The short and the fall of it is Steven Gerrard has won one trophy in three years.”

However, the Scots broadcaster was reminded by businessman Jordan that he has been raving about Gerrard’s title-winning achievements all season.

Jordan said: “Even I can’t let you get away with that. We’ve been waxing lyrical about the culmination of the wonderful breaking of the dynasty that Celtic have had in the last ten years and we’re going to pick him up on the fact he’s lost in the Scottish Cup?”

White bit back by pointing out that Rangers were trending on social media last night, with fans unhappy at the shock result.

But Jordan added: “If they are trending because people are dissatisfied then they need to wake up and grow up. They’ve just won the Scottish Premiership.”

Scottish football has almost been under embargo on TalkSPORT today, there has been no news about gags, quips or jokes from Ally McCoist after four hours on the Breakfast Show with Laura Woods.
