Its not just in Scottish football that Kris Boyd is utterly clueless.
Within the protected bubble of Sky Sports’ coverage of Scottish football there is always a friendly presenter to help him out when he freezes in mid-sentence or starts digging a hole that there is no getting out of.
For reasons best known to someone high up within Sky they have Boyd in their Glasgow studio watching EPL matches to share his expertise about the richest league in the world.
Yesterday was classic Boyd, trying to be sharp and smart but in reality way out of his depth as he criticised Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa shortly before their win at the Etihad.
Jeff Sterling knew that he was on a winner, probing into Boyd’s knowledge bank for the amusement of Sky viewers as the man from darkest Ayrshire exposed his stupidity.
?”I might upset a few here, I think there is a lot of overhype, all we hear is Bielsa is a master tactician, Chris Wilder did the same last season, with what they are spending they could do better.”

Later on, Sky viewers were able to watch Leeds winning 2-1 away at Manchester City.
Bielsa is certainly a maverick but with Pep Guardiola and others acknowledging his influence on their coaching the Leeds boss won’t be getting too concerned about the views of the former Portland Timbers goal ace.
