It is all right for fans to have a pop at a player but it is a different story when a club has a go at an opposition player.
Plenty of Celtic fans have been less than impressed by Rayan Christie’s shooting this season but Falkirk were playing with fire when they joined in the ‘fun’ 17 minutes into tonight’s Scottish Cup tie.
Just before the hour mark the attacking midfielder got his revenge. With Celtic taking the lead in the 56th minute through a deflected James Forrest shot the ball fell to Christie 20 yards from goal.
Rather than search for the top corner he shot low and true as the Falkirk Twitter account prepared for some incoming.
There was another goal to come from Moi Elyounoussi but it’ll be that tweet and Christie scoring that will be remembered from tonight’s match.
Tomorrow Celtic go into the draw for the last 16 of the competition, Christie scored in the semi and final earlier this season and will be looking to add a second winners medal for this season when the season wraps up in May.
