Ally McCoist believes that Ryan Kent is worth between £25-30m.

The former Question of Sport skipper has been out of football management since December 2014 following a Petroltank Cup defeat at Alloa. The previous season he watched Raith Rovers win the trophy against Lee McCulloch’s bravehearts in the final.

Kent came to Ibrox on the final day of the summer 2019 transfer window for a fee reported to be £7m despite no alternative interest in the Liverpool reject.

Over the course of three transfer windows the biggest fee that Ross Wilson has secured as Director of Football was £195,000 when Hull City snapped up Greg Docherty.

Selling a player for Dembele Dollars has been an obsession for Ibrox fans and punters with attempts to hype up Alfredo Morelos, James Tavernier and Glen Kamara failing to bring in a single bid.

Covering last nights BT Sport show involving McCoist and Chris Sutton, the Daily Record reports:

McCoist said: “By the way, it might happen if they get an unbelievable offer. That is the economics of football, we understand that totally. What’s he worth? £25-30m right now. £25-30m for Ryan Kent.”

Fellow guest Chris Sutton chimed in with a fee of £27m.

McCoist responded: “Well done, funnily enough that is between £25-30m. You’ve done well there, that is certainly a figure.

“You need Ryan Kents. These are the players you need to unlock defences, to get the ball, have the stepover: over left he’s away right and vice-versa.

“He goes and commits somebody, he gets by somebody and someone has to come to him so the defence opens up. He is absolutely vital to Rangers.”

Despite the claims of Gary McAllister, Kent hasn’t had a sniff at an England call up from Gareth Southgate.
