Celtic’s Colt team has been given the green light to join the Lowland League with their first fixture on July 17.
After years of trying to find a competitive outlet between youth and first team level last night the AGM of the Lowland League voted in favour of the development.
Recently Celtic have been trying to get a team into League Two of the SPFL but with little encouragement the Lowland League offered a lifeboat with the deal for one season only.

Full details of the move have still to be announced but Celtic and the team from their business partners at Ibrox won’t be allowed to go into the Play Off against the Highland League winners if they top the Lowland League.
It isn’t known if all matches will be played away from home or if Barrowfield or Lennoxtown would be allowed to stage home matches. Celtic’s Ladies team play their home matches at K Park, home of Lowland League side East Kilbride.
