Eddie Howe is in line for a huge bonus pay-out if Bournemouth win promotion to the EPL.

That is the claim made by Scott Burns of the Daily Record as Celtic fans wait and wonder about when they will have a new manager.

Bournemouth take a 1-0 lead into their semi-final second leg away to Brentford, if successful they will play in the richest match in football on May 29 for a Golden Ticket back to the EPL.

That could guarantee Bournemouth at least £130m with Howe due a pay-out after mutually consenting his Cherries contract in August when they were relegated after five years in the top flight.

In the Daily Record, Scott Burns claims:

Celtic must wait until Howe’s former club Bournemouth’s season is over to name him as boss due to financial obligations. The Cherries are 1-0 up against Brentford after the first-leg of their Championship play-off semi-final on Monday night.

Howe will land a huge pay-off bonus from Bournemouth if they are promoted while he remains on gardening leave. Celtic hope to appoint Howe within the next fortnight and the 43-year-old is still committed to taking over from Neil Lennon.

Jonathan Woodgate is now in charge of Bournemouth, if they see off Brentford on Saturday they will face Swansea or Barnsley in the Play Off Final at Wembley seven days later. Celtic announced Neil Lennon’s resignation on February 23.
