Stephen Welsh is the only Celtic player named in the Scotland u-21 squad for two friendlies next week against Northern Ireland being played at Dumbarton.
The defender had only made one Celtic first team appearance going into the 2020/21 season but finished up as a first pick with 21 appearances under his belt.
Welsh has yet to make his u-21 debut but was a regular at u-17 and u-19 level where he was joined by Daniel Church, Robbie Deas, Kerr McInroy, Ewan Henderson and Jack Aitchison.
McInroy, who spent last season on loan at Dunfermline, played for the Scotland u-21’s against San Marino in October but isn’t included in this squad. Deas, now at Inverness Caley Thistle, is included for the first time alongside three of his club team-mates.
The matches on June 2 and June 5 cut into the close season for the players involved with Celtic players expected to be back for pre-season training at Lennoxtown in mid-June.
