Brighton are the latest club to be linked with an interest in Odsonne Edouard.

The south coast club have enjoyed four seasons in the EPL but have struggled to find goals with Neal Maupay top scoring in the EPL with eight goals followed by Danny Welbeck on six.

Edouard would probably have had his eye on a bigger club than Brighton but after an indifferent season despite being Celtic’s top scorer he’s unlikely to have the sort of choices that he had a year ago.

The Sun reports:

BRIGHTON have joined the race for Celtic star man Odsonne Edouard.

The French forward, 23, is also being chased by English Premier League rivals Leicester and Arsenal. But the Seagulls hope their promise of a regular starting berth could convince the Frenchman to head to the South Coast from Parkhead.

The former PSG kid may find it difficult to dislodge first-choice Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho should he go to the FA Cup-winning Foxes and be reunited with former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

Meanwhile, the Gunners’ interest in the striker is understood to be dependent on whether Alexandre Lacazette stays or goes this summer.

Brighton are desperate for a new frontman in the upcoming transfer window after a season of numerous missed chances.

Edouard will be in the shop window next week at the u-21 European Championships and is likely to be at the Olympics in July and August.

With Leigh Griffiths out of contract next month the sale of Edouard will leave Albian Ajeti and Vakoun Bayo as the only strikers that Celtic’s new manager will have to work with.

A fee of £15m has been mentioned for Edouard but if three EPL clubs start bidding the fee could tip towards £20m.
