Shouting a very Scottish term of abuse at a team-mate seems to have increased Jack Hendry’s popularity in Belgium.
Earlier this week a fly-on-the-wall camera released a brief video clip of the Oostende defender calling one of his team-mates a Space Cadet with a word beginning with f at the start of the heated exchange.
That clip is proving very popular as a little bit of Scottish banter is transferred into the multi-cultural environment of the Belgian dressing room.
Happy birthday ‘Space Cadet’ @Jack_Hendry2 ! ??
Wat wens jij hem toe? ????Wij alvast dat hij zondag kan meespelen in #kvmkvo na de donkerrode overtreding van Carcela ? pic.twitter.com/idLyfnPie3— KV Oostende (@kvoostende) May 7, 2021
Hendry joined a struggling Belgian side on loan last summer with little fanfare or expectations with his career appearing to be on a strict downhill direction.
Neil Lennon had no place for him in his squad, when Jozo Simunovic was released the hoops opted to bring in Shane Duffy from Brighton rather than take a fresh look at the former Dundee defender.
Yesterday it was reported that Dufy had returned to Brighton, barring injury Hendry is in line for a place in the Scotland squad for the European Championships.
Back in January, chasing a Champions League spot… Hendry & Skulason arguing over the 94th minute equaliser to Rob them of 3pts.
“Airhead” & “Fucking Space Cadet” are the best quotes a ??????? has ever dished out in a ?? changing room
