Celtic have been credited with a highly speculative interest in Alberth Elis.

The Boavista winger is under contract until 2024 with Southampton and West Ham also reported to be showing interest.

Hopefully next season James Forrest will be back to his usual contributions in terms of appearances, goals and assists, with a price tag of £8.5m Elis would be very expensive back-up.

A Bola reports:

West Ham and Southampton’s interest in hiring Alberth Elis has already had the power to awaken old relationships in the Honduran striker, possibly Boavista’s most valuable player last season.

Celtic are attentive to British competition and will try to enter the scene by acquiring Elis, who scored eight goals for the panthers (Boavista). The Honduran has already admitted that it is difficult to stay at Boavista, but the Bessa club asks for €10 million.

As a Honduran Elis will know how playing for Celtic developed the career of Emilio Izaguirre bit it is difficult to imagine Celtic competing with EPL targets in the transfer market this summer.

Ange Postecoglou has still to set foot in Scotland but will have spent his first week as manager assessing the bare bones squad he is inheriting and identifying the priority areas to strengthen.

Karamoko Dembele is one option on the right wing but like a few others his contract has 12 months to run which makes the next few weeks vital in deciding whether he sees himself at Celtic in the medium term.
