Ryan Christie and Jack Hendry are the only  Celtic players to make the Scotland side that takes on the Czech Republic at Hampden today.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle man plays alongside Lyndon Dykes in attack for Steve Clarke’s side with Stuart Armstrong picked ahead of Callum McGregor in midfield. Former Celts David Marshall, Stephen O’Donnell and Kieran Tierney are all in the starting XI.

Hendry is in a new look central defence alongside Grant Handley and Liam Cooper with Kieran Tierney missing out entirely.

It is 23 years since Scotland ‘graced’ the international stage with defeats to Brazil and Morocco alongside a draw against Norway.

In two previous appearances at the European Championships Scotland have two wins to their name against Switzerland in 1996 and a dead rubber against the CIS in 1992.

To reach these finals Scotland topped their Nations League group ahead of Israel and Albania then beat the Israelis and Serbia on penalties to progress to the last 24 of the competition.

On Friday Clarke’s team take on England at Wembley before completing their group at home to Croatia next Tuesday:

SCOTLAND: Marshall: O’Donnell, Hanley, Cooper, Hendry, Robertson; McTominay, McGinn, Armstrong; Christie, Dykes

SUBS: Gordon, McLaughlin, Adams, McGregor, Taylor, Turnbull, Nisbet, Fraser, Patterson, Gilmore, Forrest, McKenna
