Ross Doohan is a loan target for Tranmere Rovers.

The keeper was part of the Celtic squad that went to Wales recently but didn’t play in any of the three matches arranged for Ange Postecoglou.

Doohan is fourth choice at Celtic with speculation that another keeper could be brought in after Vasilis Barkas was at fault for Midtjylland’s equaliser on Tuesday night.

The Daily Record reports:

Tranmere Rovers have made a move to land Ross Doohan from the Hoops. The English League Two side wants to sign the keeper on loan. Tranmere boss Micky Mellon previously worked with Doohan at Dundee United last season.

He took him on at the end of the season to cover on an emergency loan after Benjamin Siegrist broke his hand. Mellon now wants to take the 23-year-old to Prenton Park to challenge for their No. 1 position.

Doohan had two successful seasons on loan at Ayr United during which he made it into the Scotland u-21 squad. Last season he made five appearances before being recalled by Celtic after Barkas and Scott Bain had to self-isolate following Celtic’s January trip to Dubai.

Lee O’Connor spent last season on loan at Tranmere, with a year left on his Celtic contract Doohan would probably have to extend his contract before being allowed out on loan.

Conor Hazard signed a two year Celtic contract in March.
